Buying Beverly Hills opened with a bang as Mauricio Umansky spoke with his daughters about his standing with Kyle Richards. It wouldn’t be till the end of the series that viewers saw how the conversation played out, with Sophia Umansky leveling heavy claims against her father.
If it wasn’t clear, spoilers for Buying Beverly Hills will follow. But, of course, the problems started long before the Netflix show, and even before Real Housewives of Beverly Hills Season 13. Since then, the problems have seemed to only continue piling up.
Now, Kyle has officially hired divorce lawyers. With everything that happened leading up to this point, one can only imagine how the kids must feel. Well, perhaps we don’t have to strictly imagine.
Mauricio gets defensive at his daughters’ words
As viewers returned to the conversation, Sophia accused her father of doing nothing to save his marriage. “You weren’t doing anything about it. Don’t sit here and say you did so much. You didn’t,” she said. “You guys didn’t do anything.”
Alexia seemed to share the sentiment but approached her father with a little more calmness. She asked Mauricio, “The question is: was there ever any discussion of compromise?”
Mauricio admitted that the two hadn’t had a serious conversation in two months. Farrah suggested that the two couldn’t communicate “very well” with neither one feeling “seen or heard.”
Mauricio grew defensive: “I don’t agree with that at all. I had an amazing 26 years with your mom – an amazing 26 years. We communicated and we talked.” Sure Mau, maybe you did at one point, but it sounded like Farrah was speaking in more recent terms.
Mauricio reemphasized his love for his daughters and said, “We’ll get through this strongly.”
