Everyone’s been reflecting on Kate Middleton amid news of her cancer diagnosis, including Meghan King. The former Real Housewives of Orange County star participated in the speculation around Kate’s whereabouts, going as far as to hire a psychic to try and work out the truth.
Meghan’s response certainly made sense at the time. The entire world wanted to know what was going on with Kate. It all started when Kensington Palace confirmed she’d be having abdominal surgery and would be out of the public eye until after Easter. That’s where the rumors began.
Wild speculation ran rampant. It was only exacerbated by the Palace’s bizarre attempts to confirm that Kate was fine, including a photoshopped image to the press. The rumors must’ve become too much to bear. Kate finally released a video explaining she’d been diagnosed with cancer.
Bravolebrity speculation on Kate comes to an end
In an Instagram Story on March 22, Meghan shared, “I saw all the news about Kate Middleton, and it’s so horrible. I mean, I’m the same age as her so it really hits home and just sending prayers and good vibes her way.”
She continued, “I feel really bad that I participated in the speculation about extramarital stuff, which, I mean, it still could be the case but it’s not at the forefront here.” Ultimately, she expressed some hope, saying, “Just sending her so many prayers and good vibes – healthy vibes – and I do think she will have a full recovery.”
Meghan wasn’t the only Bravolebrity who’d been speculating about the Princess. Andy Cohen was among the most notable rumor mill workers. During an interview with John Oliver on Watch What Happens Live, Andy asked the comedian what was going on with Kate. John said there was a “non-zero” chance Kate was already dead. Talk about a statement that aged like milk.
Granted, neither John nor Andy knew what was going on, and the Palace’s PR strategies didn’t help. Feeling remorse is fair and natural, and the best thing we can do now is recalibrate our actions and move forward. May we all send some “prayers and good vibes” to Kate, just like Meghan.
