Vanderpump Rules stars Scheana Shay and Ariana Madix are going through a rough patch this season. Scheana has been open about feeling disconnected from her longtime bestie in the aftermath of #Scandoval. In addition to her feeling like Ariana isn’t receptive to hearing her perspective, there also seems to be a bit of resentment in the relationship. Ariana has moved on to greener pastures while Scheana is still coping with losing her friend of 14 years, Tom Sandoval.
While it’s sad to see these two at odds in Season 11, it helps to remember all the good moments in their friendship.

When Scheana confronted Sandoval about Miami Girl
Scheana may have dismissed the Sandoval and Rachel Leviss hookup rumors in Season 10 but she wasn’t so quick to ignore the Miami Girl rumor in Season 3.
After Kristen Doute brought the rumor to life, Scheana went full-on investigation mode to protect her best friend from an alleged cheater. She brought up the rumor to Ariana and showed her the DMs Kristen exchanged with the “other woman” on Instagram.
Scheana warned her friend to be careful, telling her, “I just don’t want you to fall for his s*** if he is lying again.” I loved seeing Scheana prioritize Ariana over Sandoval in this situation. Ariana wasn’t willing to hear the truth at the time but Scheana was right to have her girl’s back.
When they walked down the aisle together
In the Season 5 finale, Ariana, who was a groomsman for Tom Schwartz, walked down the aisle hand-in-hand with Scheana, who was one of Katie Maloney’s bridesmaids. While the day was about Katie and Schwartz’s love, we couldn’t help but fawn over this adorable friendship moment between the two besties. They made a cuter couple than any of the other pairs walking down the aisle that day.
When Ariana defended Scheana against the internet trolls
In Season 11, Scheana caught a lot of heat from fans for posing in a photo with Sandoval. After witnessing how the situation affected Scheana, Lala Kent asked Ariana if she would post something in support of their friend, so she would stop getting hate. Ariana took Lala’s words to heart and ran to Instagram to tell VPR fans to back off.
“Scheana is an amazing friend who took a photo with a fan for their birthday. [There’s] been so many mean comments towards her for it and she was just doing something nice,” she wrote in an Instagram Story. “[It’s] common for the whole cast to be in a photo regardless of what is going on between any of us at the time.”
We’re glad Ariana chose to support her friend over appeasing the internet trolls. Huge win.
When Scheana chose Ariana over Rachel and Sandoval
Scheana was caught between three friends when news of Sandoval and Rachel’s affair broke in March 2023. She was close with all three players involved in the affair and many fans wondered how she would react. After all, she is known for being a people pleaser. However, she did not mince words when she declared herself Team Ariana.
We know, we know, she’s sort of backtracking on that now but it’s important to remember how hard she rode for Ariana last spring.
She immediately cut off her friendship with Rachel and gave Sandoval a piece of her mind in the Season 10 finale. In the finale, Sandoval tried to explain why he couldn’t break up with Ariana but Scheana was not having it. Instead, she explained what Sandoval should have done.
“You be a f***ing adult and you have a conversation with her,” she said. “You fly in [her mom] Tanya, you bring over [her brother] Jeremy, and you have all her f***ing friends ready to rally around her like we’re doing right now.”
We loved seeing Scheana have her girl’s back in this moment.
