Brittany Cartwright and Jax Taylor have undoubtedly faced their issues as a married couple. Watchers saw it unfold during earlier seasons of Vanderpump Rules, but now it’s playing out on The Valley.
Although the pair were married while filming the first season, they’ve since announced their separation, which prompted Bravo to begin rolling the cameras again. In an interview with The Daily Dish, Brittany revealed a little more about what caused her to take space from Jax.
Brittany talks about losing her connection with Jax…
Brittany spilled some behind-the-scenes tea about life with Jax. Most of which, by the way, wasn’t much of a surprise. “We just had our issues with fighting with each other,” she said. “There wasn’t any infidelity. I know that’s been a rumor going around. It wasn’t anything like that.”
“It was just not a happy feeling, and I was, like, losing my sparkle a little bit,” she continued. “I started to notice that, and I think after I had my son, I woke up a little bit and it made me realize like he can’t grow up in this environment.”
Kristen Doute, who knows Britanny and Jax from Pump Rules, also commented, saying she’s “proud” of her friend for prioritizing her happiness.
“I always say … Stella got her groove back … Brittany’s getting her sparkle back,” she said.
Is there a future for Jax and Brittany?
Jax recently revealed he believed something could be wrong with his “brain,” considering the way he’s lashed out at others, including Brittany. “I don’t want to self-diagnose, but there’s something definitely wrong with my brain. I’m aware of that. I’m trying to figure that out,” he said.
The House of Villains star has certainly had explosive moments with his co-stars, including Tom Sandoval, Stassi Schroeder, and Kristen. After years of trying to deal with his personality, Brittany revealed that she had enough. “It just wore on me after nine years of dealing with a personality like that,” she said. “We’re very different in a lot of ways, and he has grown in many ways as well.”
She continued, saying Jax hasn’t been “the best partner right now;” however, she’d be open to getting “back together” if he made the appropriate changes.
“I’m not really sure about that situation yet, but for right now, the space is much needed for both of us. I’m just glad that I had the strength to finally take myself out of that situation ‘cause I didn’t think I would ever, ever, ever leave him.”
