Paulina Ben-Cohen Suing Ex-Fiancé and Shahs of Sunset Alum Mike Shouhed for Alleged Domestic Violence

Trigger warning: This article discusses alleged domestic violence.

Shahs of Sunset was cancelled after 9 seasons back in April 2022. Coincidentally, that announcement was made just a few weeks after Shahs’ resident womanizing Peter Pan-type, Mike Shouhed, was arrested for an alleged domestic violence incident in March 2022.

Mike and his then-fiancée Paulina Ben-Cohen’s sometimes-rocky relationship was featured on Shahs. The two were living together at the time of the incident and his subsequent arrest. The alleged victim was anonymous until July 2022, when Paulina’s attorney confirmed she was the other party involved.

Now, Paulina’s suing Mike for the alleged incident.

Paulina’s suit against Mike provided disturbing details of the alleged incident

Mike cut a deal with prosecutors in September 2022. Additionally, he entered a diversion program, and his case got dismissed.

However, People obtained court documents on March 25 that revealed Paulina’s suing Mike for claims of assault and battery, gender violence, and intentional infliction of emotional distress.

According to Paulina’s complaint, she alleges that Mike “viciously, brutally and repeatedly assaulted and battered” her inside her home on March 27, 2022. Further, she claimed he “forcefully grabbed hair and shoulder and violently threw her to the ground.”

Paulina has two children with her ex-husband, and the reported altercation continued in their playroom. Her complaint claims that she was able to call 911 when Mike left the playroom to get a gun.

The complaint read, “Nearly four minutes after [Shouhed] initiated his series of vicious and brutal attacks on plaintiff, this harrowing incident finally came to an end. After Shouhed went upstairs to retrieve one of his firearms, the police were called, came to the residence and arrested Shouhed.”

Consequently, Paulina’s seeking unspecified damages and punitive damages from Mike. And finally, neither have provided comment on the current lawsuit.

Shahs of Sunset streams on Netflix.
