Lala Kent’s relationship with Tom Sandoval has changed in a way that few Vanderpump Rules fans saw coming. Lala’s behavior in the most recent episode might give some insight into her newfound feud with Ariana Madix after the reunion taping.
In a recent interview, Lala said that Ariana’s actions toward Tom didn’t exactly line up, implying that her anger might be somewhat performative. Lala questioned how Ariana could feel unsafe with Tom but continue living with him.
She further found it suspect that Ariana was reportedly so devastated by Scandoval but managed to find a new man quickly after the fact. So, if these comments didn’t make it clear enough that Lala was leaning toward Tom’s side, well … read on.
Lala defends Tom’s “right to evolve” as she offers Sandoval a second chance at friendship
On the March 26 episode of VPR, Lala said in a confessional, “We should reserve the right to evolve and f*ck what anyone else says.” She continued, “And you know what? Let’s say he is bullsh*tting us all. He’s the one who has to sleep with himself. It doesn’t affect my life. I sleep real nice at night.”
Lala told Tom, “You and what you did, that is not my fight. I now have to go into, this is what I want, this is what I feel good about, and I did feel good about coming here and having this conversation with you and letting you know that this is good for me.”
Later, when talking with Ariana, Lala said, “[I] had the most productive conversation that I’ve had with Tom in all of my years of knowing him.” Ariana was less than pleased. “Very cool, Lala. Very cool,” she told the cameras. “Don’t know if I really buy it, but cool.”
In truth, Lala has a point. People should be allowed to evolve. But let’s be real. Has Sandoval truly shown any signs of evolution? He undoubtedly feels bad. But does he feel bad for what he did or does he just feel bad for himself?
Vanderpump Rules Season 11 continues Tuesdays at 8/7c on Bravo.
