These days, we’ve been getting a glimpse into Kristen Doute’s adult life on The Valley as she tries to start a family and integrate her boyfriend, Luke Broderick, into a Jax Taylor-led friend group. But once upon a time, she was a struggling SUR-ver on Vanderpump Rules, fighting with her friends and navigating a toxic relationship with Tom Sandoval. Jax was somewhat *ahem* involved in that too. It was a chaotic time.
Kristen exited VPR a few years ago, but still talks about her time on the show and reacts to new episodes on her and Luke’s podcast. Recently, she revealed that she took various diet pills during her early Pump Rules days because she felt pressure to stay thin for one unfortunate reason.
Kristen says she took diet pills “to be as skinny or be skinnier than Tom Sandoval”
As a quick refresher: Kristen dated Sandoval from 2007-2013. The downfall of their relationship was shown on VPR. Kristen admitted to cheating on Tom with Jax, and Tom allegedly cheated on Kristen with Ariana Madix. Tom and Ariana were together for nine years before his affair with their friend, Rachel Leviss, rocked the Bravoverse.
On the Friday, March 29 episode of their Sex, Love and What Else Matters podcast, Kristen and Luke talked about the latest episode of Pump Rules. Luke was particularly shocked by Sandoval’s revelation that Ariana Madix’s dog, Mya Moon, once ate 500(!) laxatives she found in the former couple’s home.
Many viewers shared Luke’s befuddlement. However, having once been in a relationship with Sandoval, Kristen wasn’t surprised one bit.
“Luke your first response was, ‘Who has 500 laxatives?’ I was like, Tom Sandoval. That’s why I was so skinny when we dated. We took laxatives — like Dulcolax,” she revealed.
At the time, Kristen says she just went along with taking the laxatives, Adderall, and water pills that Tom allegedly encouraged her use.
“I had to be as skinny or be skinnier than Tom Sandoval. He was like, ‘Here’s some Adderall, some laxatives and some water pills.’ I was like, ‘OK.’ I don’t know any better.”
Ah, young love. Kristen hasn’t shied away from airing Tom out lately, also recently claiming that he pushed a threesome on her. With this new laxative revelation, the “Sandy’s full of shit” jokes just write themselves.
