Something About Her has had a controversial lifespan – if one could call it that. Ariana Madix and Katie Maloney’s joint business venture was plagued almost from the very beginning.
Fans grew more and more suspicious the longer it took for the sandwich shop to open. Speculation emerged that the idea of the restaurant was devised only to sell merchandise.
The Vanderpump Rules stars have assured fans that the restaurant is coming, despite delays in city planning, permits, or what have you. As it turns out, the shop might’ve opened a long time ago, if not for a lack of experience.
Katie and Ariana may need to ask for some help
The U.S. Sun reported that Something About Her could have opened sooner if Chef Penny Davidi had been more involved. “Penny hasn’t been as active recently because Ariana and Katie wanted to be on the front end of things and be more hands-on,” a source reported. “But Penny has always been a supporter and will continue to be a supporter.”
However, this insider also noted that the level of Chef Penny’s involvement wasn’t the only issue at play. Or, as the source put it, “a lot of these delays had nothing to do with Penny.” And while Penny’s activity was reportedly scaled back, she is “still a partner” and “has a stake” in the future business.
The source further shared, “As far as she’s concerned, Penny’s available to help and has been available to help all along.” Were Penny in charge, “She certainly could have had this open a long time ago.” Penny is reportedly still available to help and is waiting with hope for the restaurant’s swift opening.
“She’s a phone call, if not a meeting, away from helping in any of these areas that it seems like Katie and Ariana may be having a challenging time with.”
