For eight seasons, Kristen Doute starred on Vanderpump Rules as one of the OG cast members. She was best known for her Crazy Kristen moments and a string of questionable boyfriends. Also, she dated Tom Sandoval for years. Had an affair with Jax Taylor. Finally, she brought James Kennedy to fame after bringing him onto the series as her last boyfriend. Kristen has multiple memorable moments, including being slapped by Stassi Schroeder.
Perhaps her best work occurred on their trip to Solvang. The flailing, the falling, the eating plants on the roadside—it was magic. However, Kristen also had a dark side, which caused her demise from the series, and she ultimately was canceled.
What was Kristen fired for?
In 2020, Kristen and Stassi were both fired by Bravo for racist actions. After Faith Stowers revealed Kristen and Stassi reported her for a crime she didn’t commit, Bravo confirmed the OGs had been let go. Bravo released a statement. “Bravo and Evolution Media confirmed today that Stassi Schroeder, Kristen Doute, Max Boyens, and Brett Caprioni will not be returning to Vanderpump Rules.” Max and Bretty were fired after past racist tweets were revealed.
Faith shared via People that in 2018, Stassi and Kristen had called the police about a crime. It was first reported in the Daily Mail regarding a Black woman wanted for theft. The woman pictured in the article was not Faith. The former Vanderpump Rules star shared, “There was this article on Daily Mail where there was an African American lady. It was a weird photo, so she looked very light-skinned and had these different, weird tattoos. They showcased her, and I guess this woman was robbing people. And they called the cops and said it was me. This is, like, a true story. I heard this from actually Stassi during an interview.”
Kristen tweeted a link to an article about the woman involved in the alleged crime. She shared, “hey tweeties, doesn’t this ex #pumprules thief look familiar? someone put her on MTV & gave her a platform for press. I didn’t wanna go there but I’m going there.”
Kristen faces backlash over Michelle comment
We all know you can’t run away from your past. Kristen seemingly stepped into the murky waters again after repeating alleged rumors about Michelle Lally. During a bad game of telephone Britanny Cartwright explained. “Kristen starts bringing up that Janet told Jasmine that Michelle was racist and a Republican and all this crap.” Jesse Lally wasn’t standing for the carelessness from Kristen. He dropped the mic. “If something like that gets out, you are ruining lives…you were thrown off a f*cking show for being an actual racist.”
Kristen was left shell-shocked by the comment. Jesse asked, “Is that not a true statement?’ To which someone at the table replied, “It’s true.” In a confessional, Kristen tearfully recalled what she had done. She said, “I’m not proud of what I did. And I’m sorry that I hurt people, but I’ve learned from my mistakes.” Additionally, Kristen took steps to educate herself. This included calling friends, listening to resources, reading, and watching Ted Talks to understand everything happening around her.
Kristen apologizes
Even though the former Vanderpump Rules star apologized to the table, Jesse wasn’t about to let Kristen off the hook. Further, he called her a liar. What’s more, Kristen needs to learn that she can’t weaponize gossip she hears about her friends against them. Basically there was a convo caught that showed Janet Caperna, Jasmine Goode, and Zack Wickham confirming a talk about Michelle and her views.
So, in this instance, Kristen isn’t entirely wrong for calling out what the group discussed. However, due to her past, she will always have a scarlet letter branded on. Consequently, the OG should have known better. Especially with all she claims to have learned.
