Lala Kent is thinking pink these days.
On April 9, the pregnant Vanderpump Rules star announced the sex of her second child by popping a balloon full of pink confetti on Amazon Live. It’s a girl!
“Shout-out to the daughters,” Lala said. “I am so excited to be a girl mom.” This will be Lala’s second daughter, as she’s already a mama to three-year-old Ocean.
A child she won’t have to share
Debuting her bump via Instagram March 3, Lala captioned the photo, “I’m expanding my pod … Cheers to a new addition to my little family.” Then, just a few days before sharing her new baby’s sex, the former SUR hostess hinted at a possible name — or at least the first initial. She revealed on her Instragram Stories that the new baby’s name would start with the letter “S.” (I only hope she’s not planning on naming Ocean’s little sister “Sea.”)
As she explained to Lisa Vanderpump on the March 12 episode of Pump Rules, her second child was conceived via a sperm donor. Citing the trauma she’s experienced from having to share her daughter with her ex-fiancé Randall Emmett, Lala wanted a baby that was all her own, that no one could ever take from her.
“I don’t want a baby daddy,” she told her former boss. “It’s not happening. There’s no changing my mind.”
Later that same month, the Give Them Lala Beauty creator was a guest on The Talk. She reiterated, “I get to wake up on Christmas morning with this baby. I don’t have to share it on its birthday.”
A surprising friendship
At the time he and Lala started dating, Randall was still married to Ambyr Childers. The You actress is the mother of their two children, daughters London and Rylee.
Ironically, following her ex and Lala’s breakup in 2021, Ambyr and the VPR star became friends and now attend the birthday parties of each other’s children. Their daughters are siblings, after all. Ambyr was even among the first to congratulate Lala when she announced her second pregnancy.
