Lauri Peterson’s Son Josh Waring Was Released From Prison Just Days Before Death

More details have emerged surrounding the unexpected death of Josh Waring, son of Real Housewives of Orange County alum, Lauri Peterson.

Lauri posted the heartbreaking news of Josh’s passing on social media a few days ago. Those who tuned in during Lauri’s stint on early seasons of RHOC are familiar with how much a then-teenage Josh struggled with addiction, and how steadfast Lauri was in her efforts to help him turn his life around. Unfortunately, Josh’s struggles followed him into adulthood. He had numerous run-ins with the law and spent much of his life in and out of jail.

Sadly, court documents show that Josh had just been released from jail a few days before he died of a presumed drug overdose on March 31 – Easter Sunday.

Josh, 35, died on March 31. According to court records obtained by Radar Online, Josh was released from custody on March 29 after being in jail for more than a month.

His incarceration stemmed from an incident on February 14. Josh allegedly assaulted a security guard at a medical facility, as confirmed by a lieutenant from the Orange County Police Department.

At the time of that incident, Josh had an outstanding warrant related to a violation of post-release supervision. This violation allegedly led to his 90-day jail sentence on February 21.

The full 90 days would’ve meant a May release. But, Josh was discharged early just two days before his death, reportedly due to a suspected drug overdose.

Records also reveal that Josh was required to contact probation officials by April 1. However, having passed the day before, there was no call. This led to officials issuing a warrant for his arrest, as reported by The Orange County Register.

Sending our heartfelt condolences to all who loved Josh.
