The less social half of Summer House’s married couple shared her opinion on Bravo’s decision to skip BravoCon in 2024.
Amanda Batula is known to Summer House viewers to be more comfortable at home, while her husband, Kyle Cooke, parties hard even on weeknights. The two have sparred over the matter on Season 8 of Summer House, with Amanda expressing her frustration with the late hours Kyle keeps. For his part, the Loverboy founder wants to stay “connected” and feels lonely when his wife tries to curb his social lifestyle.
Amanda called BravoCon “a fun opportunity”
It seems reasonable to ask Amanda if she will miss the chance to party with all the other Bravolebrities at the event in 2024. Rather, the next would be in Las Vegas in November 2025. A full two years after the most recent one.
DECIDER asked the Summer House favorite to comment after the Bravo network revealed they would not be hosting BravoCon this year. Amanda admitted to feeling “relieved” with the decision.
“On a personal level, I am — I would say, relieved,” Amanda told DECIDER in a recent interview. “BravoCon, it’s just nonstop and it’s so much fun but I am such an introvert that it drains me after. I’m like shut down for weeks at a time.”
However, Amanda did share some positive feelings she had about the event.
“But it’s such a fun opportunity to meet everyone, including other talent and the fans,” she added. “So I’m relieved but overall it’s a bummer. But it’s not canceled so we just get a little bit of a hiatus. We gotta get our energy back up.”
Were past experiences at BravoCon a deterrent for Amanda?
Perhaps the Summer House star also needs a break from controversy. During BravoCon 2022 in New York City, Amanda took some heat from The Real Housewives of Potomac star Gizelle Bryant for going barefoot in the bathroom.
From there, it was an exhausting situation, surely, for Amanda to defend herself to Gizelle and her RHOP bestie, Robyn Dixon. The trio found themselves onstage together at The Bravos event the following year at BravoCon.
“You’re proud of walking into a public restroom with bare feet? Do you know how gross and disgusting that is? I don’t walk barefoot in my own home,” Robyn challenged Amanda, while simultaneously admitting to her poor housekeeping habits.
“I am a child of nature. I walk outside barefoot,” Amanda replied. “I am not mad. I’m OK. My mom thinks it’s gross, too. I just don’t care.”
Certainly, avoiding drama is a worthwhile reason to celebrate the cancellation of BravoCon this year. It’s so much more enjoyable to watch Amanda having a great time with her friends on Summer House.
