The Real Housewives of Potomac had a disappointing Season 8. And now, the show is undergoing a cast shake-up. First Candiace Dillard Bassett announced that she was exiting the show. And now a green-eyed bandit, Robyn Dixon, is following her out the door.
There were rumors that Robyn was leaving RHOP. She has been a controversial figure because of her husband, Juan Dixon, and his alleged infidelities. Karen Huger accused him of cheating on Robyn, and Robyn denied it. She even remarried Juan.
Finally, Robyn admitted the cheating rumors were true after keeping the drama off-camera for Season 7 of RHOP. Fans, and her co-stars, were upset that Robyn wasn’t being authentic.
Robyn wasn’t asked back for season 9 of RHOP
Robyn shared the news on her Reasonably Shady podcast with fellow green-eyed bandit Gizelle Bryant. “Yes, I will not be returning for season 9 of The Real Housewives of Potomac. The network did not invite me back,” Robyn stated. “I was fired, for lack of better words. I will not sugar-coat the situation the situation and say, ‘Ooh I am walking away and this is a break’ or anything like this. This is a network decision,” she added.
Robyn has been a fixture on every season since RHOP debuted. The mom of two continued, “I’m okay with it because nothing lasts forever. I’ve had a very long run on the show, and I just really appreciate that time and the opportunity that I had on the show.” She then thanked the production company behind RHOP, Truly Original.
“Thank you to the fans who have watched us from day one. I do want to especially thank all of the fans and viewers who have supported me, showed love to me,” Robyn stated. “Whether you directly sent me love or you prayed for me or you have positive thoughts around me, I appreciate you.”
Robyn also hoped that she inspired viewers to be themselves. “I hope I inspired you the viewers, the fans, to live your life authentically,” she said. Some may have an issue with this statement since Robyn kept Juan’s cheating off the show.
Robyn will miss Gizelle
Then Robyn spoke to her co-star, and bestie, Gizelle. “I really want to say I love you,” she said. “It’s been such a fun, amazing, stressful, crazy wild journey the past 8 years. I couldn’t imagine doing what we did with anyone else,” Robyn said.
“To my green-eyed bandit, my partner in crime. Although we still have Reasonably Shady, I’m still going to talk to you all the time and see you all the time, I hate that that part of our friendship is not there anymore,” she added.
I find it refreshing when a housewife admits they have been fired from the franchise. Now it is a waiting game to see if anyone else is leaving RHOP ahead of Season 9.
