The events of the past year have afforded Ariana Madix a series of opportunities that seemingly became hers overnight after her ex-boyfriend, Tom Sandoval, was caught cheating with Rachel Leviss.
Ariana placed in the top three on Dancing with the Stars and had a run as Chicago’s Roxie Hart on Broadway. There have been endorsements and collaborations. The Vanderpump Rules star has been more in demand than ever, and with that comes a whole conversation on how she manages her schedule and stress.
Ariana reveals how she deals with “tense moments of of filming”
Ariana gave an exclusive interview to Elite Daily about her time-management skills. She also shared her go-to person that she contacts when de-stressing is a must. And it’s not just her long-distance boyfriend Daniel Wai.
“I am someone who is both overly ambitious and also very easily overwhelmed,” Ariana revealed.
She explained, “I make a list of priorities — like, what’s the most important thing? Sometimes things that are not that pressing get left to the wayside.”
Ariana was asked how she maintains her composure “during tense moments of filming,” especially when her ex-boyfriend is sparring with her.
“I have a habit of disassociating. When people talk about stress responses like the fight-flight-freeze.” she said. “I’m a freezer. So at times I might appear very calm or unbothered, really I am purposely disassociating. I’m thinking about something else. If I allow myself to feel all the feelings in that moment, it might not be something I can mentally come back from.”
Ariana wanted to make it clear that it’s hardly a “healthy” response, it’s just an explanation of her stress response.
“I’m not giving advice. That’s just kind of what happens,” she clarified.
Daniel calms her down
When the publication asked Ariana to point out her “go-to person to call” after a long day.
“One of my best friends, Brad, has been staying with me in New York. So when I come home, Brad is there and we will vent about stuff,” she answered.
“Or my boyfriend, Dan,” Ariana added. “He’s a very calming force, so it’s a different energy. It’s kind of like, ‘Do I want to vent to someone who’s going to really help me through this? Or do I want to vent to someone who’s just going to get it?'”
Ariana certainly needed Dan and Brad while filming the current season of Vanderpump Rules. She’s had numerous confrontations with her ex-boyfriend, as well as standing her ground against co-stars such as Scheana Shay and Lala Kent who want to bring Sandoval back into the group.
