The OG Dance Moms fans will undoubtedly remember Brooke Hyland and her sister Paige. The two were original cast members up until Season 4. When their mother, Kelly Hyland, had an explosive fight with Abby Lee Miller, it was curtains for the Hyland sisters.
Nevertheless, despite growing up in such an environment, Brooke and Paige are moving on with their lives. With an already established following, becoming an influencer wasn’t a difficult task. But beyond a professional life, Brooke’s personal life looks quite all right too.
On May 6, PEOPLE reported that Brooke became engaged to her longtime boyfriend, Brian Thalman. Brian proposed at Frick Park in the Hylands’ hometown of Pittsburgh. Family members were close by to watch the proposal unfolding. See all the details below.
What brought Brooke and her fiancé together?
After the proposal, Brian, Brooke, and family members went out for brunch. Brian told PEOPLE that he and Brooke met in December 2021 while Brooke was home for Christmas. Brian shared, “At the time, she was living in Austin, Texas. Her cousin, who is my close friend, introduced us to one another.”
He added, “We did long distance for a few months before Brooke moved back to Pittsburgh.” Brian and Brooke were drawn to each other as lovers of travel, food, and outdoor activities. “We also have a dog named Jack,” he shared.
Shortly after news broke of the proposal, Brooke took to Instagram to share photos. “Learned that he’s almost as tall as me on one knee,” Brooke joked in her caption. She continued, “Here’s to today, tomorrow, & forever after that?”
Commenters flooded the post with support. Paige wrote, “Screaming crying throwing up!” Even the official Dance Moms Instagram page popped in to write, “Congrats Brooke!!!! we’re so sooo happy for you ?????”
