Bravo was representing at the Met Gala! In case you live under a rock, the first Monday in May is the annual Met Gala. It’s fashion’s biggest night, and Andy Cohen was in the building this year along with his bestie Sarah Jessica Parker.
The 2024 Met Gala dress code was “Garden of Time”. Some celebrities delivered, while others missed the mark. SJP understood the assignment and showed up in a stunning Richard Quinn gown with a dramatic headpiece. Andy played it safe and wore a black tuxedo by Berluti. Groundbreaking? No. But, he looked great! Check out the pictures below.
Andy and SJP’s night at the Met
On the red carpet, SJP and Andy walked hand in head. The dynamic duo rubbed elbows with A-list stars ranging from Demi Lovato to an array of Kardashian-Jenners. When walking the red carpet, Andy spoke to People about his night out with Sarah Jessica and was all smiles about being in the building with the Sex in the City star. He called her “the best date in the place.”
“I lucked out,” Andy said about his friendship with SJP. “I hit the jackpot.”
The morning after the gala, Andy dished about his night on his Sirius XM show, Andy Cohen Live. He said this was his “seventh or eighth” time attending the gala. This time stood out because SJP couldn’t sit down in her gown. The dress was so ornate that she had to stand the entire night, which is some true dedication to the fashion.
Then, Andy explained the goal behind his tuxedo. As SJP’s date, he said his mission was just to complement her outfit. That’s a fair reason to play it safe, but we would have loved to see him channel the spirit of his Real Housewives and show up in something a little more extravagant. There’s always next year, Andy.
