Danielle Cabral first joined the cast of The Real Housewives of New Jersey in Season 13. Right off the bat, she sympathized with Teresa Giudice‘s family-based dramas. That’s because, as we quickly all learned, Danielle’s also estranged from one of her siblings. Now, she and her dad are also at odds, to the point where Danielle’s actually slashed all of her ties with her father.
When a Daddy isn’t always the dearest
In a sneak peak for RHONJ Season 14 Episode 2, we learn that Danielle’s business is thriving. This is causing her to be “so crazy” with everything else that’s going on in her life. Thankfully, there’s at least one positive thing resting on her varied plates. Six years ago, her husband Nate Cabral had a cyst surgically removed from his brain, and he’s been doing great ever since.
Now, Danielle’s throwing Nate a celebration of life party, but they’re choosing to only invite their friends. On this, Nate explains “we don’t need any family.” The scene then flashes back to the Season 13 reunion. Here, we see Danielle speaking about how she’d sent her brother a gift following the birth of his daughter, but her brother sent this gift right on back to New Jersey.
Apparently, this gift also triggered an issue with her dad. “My mom and I are doing great, but I stopped talking to my dad, because he handled the gift situation with my brother not in the best way. I felt like in that moment, maybe for just one moment, my father can say ‘he’s an idiot, and I’m sorry that he’s doing this to you,’ but he’s never stood up for me,” she says.
On this, Danielle’s had enough. “It might be harsh on my part to just cut ties. I just need to start protecting myself,” she shares. Luckily, her dad still has a relationship with Nate, and also with their children. For this at least, Danielle’s thankful.
