Summer House Season 8 is the show’s best in years, but there’s still something missing. By which we mean, certain cast members from past seasons. Including Sam Feher, who joined the show in Season 7. She also appeared on Season 3 of the spin-off Winter House.
On both Summer and Winter House, Sam’s main storyline revolved around her relationship with Kory Keefer. By the time Sam came to visit him at Winter House, Kory developed quite a flirty rapport with Below Deck Mediterranean star Malia White. Sam rang in the new year by dumping him, and Bravo fans collectively cried out, good for her! Especially because her innate likability got drowned out by the exhausting situationship saga.
So far in Season 8, Sam only just made a brief appearance at Lindsay Hubbard’s bridal shower. As a result, a lot of viewers were wondering where she went. Why didn’t she return in a full-time capacity? Was it her call, or did it come from the network?
Why isn’t Sam on Summer House?
Adding to the confusion over her absence, Us Weekly previously reported that Sam would be back for Season 8 as a part-time cast member. Ostensibly, that made her one of the season’s “friend of” crew. But it took a while for this friend to show up. In July, when the show was filming, Sam posted an Instagram pic with the caption, “still giving main character”. Many wondered if this was her comment on whether or not she was coming back.
According to Bravo, Sam chose not to return full-time. Allegedly, she wanted to focus on her entrepreneurial efforts instead. That explanation doesn’t make a ton of sense. Surely, the Bravo audience would help someone build up their career as an entrepreneur? But it’s possible Sam wanted to focus all her energy on her non-reality TV career.
Could Sam’s Summer House absence be due to Kory Keefer?
When Summer House filmed in 2023, Sam and Kory were still together. Could that have something to do with why she isn’t on Season 8? It’s possible the then-couple was seen as a package deal, and viewers were pretty relieved when Kory wasn’t asked back.
When fans praise West Wilson and Jesse Solomon as the best male cast members in years, they emphasize the Season 8 newbies are a major upgrade from Kory. Especially after Kory came under fire for liking transphobic social media posts.
Season 8’s Summer House cast had a 50/50 split between single ladies and women in relationships. If Sam was a full-time cast member, it would be difficult to skate around her dating Kory. There were already three established couples going into the season, and West’s situationship with Ciara Miller would end up as a major storyline. Adding in Kory and Sam would’ve been overkill. Especially since viewers weren’t responding well to their dynamic anyway.
However, Sam has had overwhelming fan support since she broke up with Kory. Truly, viewers always thought she was too good for him. Now that she’s unattached, it would be fun to see her back on a potential Summer House Season 9.
Could Sam still appear on Summer House in the future?
Season 8 is winding down at this point, so who knows if Sam will appear on camera again. But it’s certainly not out of the question. In March, Sam posted an Instagram photo with West, Jesse, and Danielle Olivera. It seemed to be a throwback pic from the previous summer.
If Sam didn’t film any more appearances this year, we at least know she is still pals with the cast. That could lead to a more prominent return in the future. Now that she’s over Kory, Sam would fit right in with the growing girl power vibes that are so refreshing to see.
