Vanderpump Rules star Tom Schwartz is giddy about his new girlfriend Sophia Skoro. Someone who’s not so giddy? His erstwhile roommate/hookup buddy Jo Wenberg.
Following his divorce from Katie Maloney, Schwartz got involved in a situationship with Jo. She was something of a friend with benefits, though Jo obviously felt they were more to each other. She had feelings for Tom and claimed they often exchanged the “L” word.
But during Season 11 of Pump Rules, Tom ended his relationship with Jo and started dating Sophie a few months later. Jo recently spoke out about their relationship on Instagram Live. “I think Tom Schwartz is dating a fan,” she said. “Sorry, I mean, I just know that for a fact.”
“The one that got away”
After claiming that Sophia is a “fan,” Jo added, “I think that’s amazing … Let’s just let him do his thing.” Though it wasn’t clear whether Jo was joking, there was definite shade being cast.
Then the hairdresser tried to be philosophical about their breakup, saying, “It is what it is, it is what it’s not,” she still seemed hurt. I think she cared deeply for Tom, and he took advantage of that.
“I think I was the one that got away,” she said, remembering how she felt about her time with Tom. “It’s a sad topic to talk about, you guys, ’cause it’s like I was never more happy.”
Tom didn’t consider her a “rebound” girl following his divorce from Katie. “We became really close friends, too,” he continued. “[She] wasn’t just an occasional hookup buddy.”
Though they hooked up for months, Schwartz eventually decided he didn’t want to be in a relationship with Jo. He didn’t hesitate to kick Jo to the curb when he decided to look at other options, leaving the hairstylist heartbroken. It’s not a good look, Tom.
