It’s time to say goodbye to another Real Housewives of Potomac cast member.
Nneka Ihim, who joined the series in Season 8 as a friend of Ashley Darby’s, announced via People that her time holding a champagne flute has come to an end. “I will not be returning for season 9 of RHOP,” she revealed. Although the Bravo rookie is about three weeks behind on this announcement, we appreciate her officially confirming it.
She continued, saying her primary focus is on expanding her family and becoming a mother. “… after multiple failed fertility procedures, I have decided to make expanding my family my ultimate priority,” she said. She later thanked the fans for their support during her freshman season, “especially regarding my difficult IUI turned IVF journey and the stigma surrounding infertility.” She finished, “All of the kind remarks have genuinely kept me uplifted and have fueled my determination to continue to share my story.”
The word on the street is RHOP 9 will be something totally different
Nneka isn’t the only Potomac lady exiting the beloved franchise. Candiace Dillard Bassett announced weeks ago that she’d be leaving after Season 8 to focus on her growing music career. Additionally, she shared the news that she and her husband, Chris Bassett, were expecting their first child together.
“I’m looking forward to the community, the mom community,” she said about becoming a mother. “It’s a space I’ve kind of been peering into from the outside, most of my friends and my cousins have kids. I’ve helped raise and change diapers and babysit all of my cousins’ kids, so it’s just gonna be fun to be a part of that community and, you know, to learn and grow as a member now.”
Robyn Dixon, who was a Potomac OG, told viewers that her time on the show had also reached an end. “Yes, I will not be returning for season 9 of The Real Housewives of Potomac. The network did not invite me back,” Robyn stated. “I was fired, for lack of better words. I will not sugar-coat the situation the situation and say, ‘Ooh I am walking away and this is a break’ or anything like [that]. This is a network decision.”
With all of the casting news going on, I hope Gizelle Bryant and Ashley Darby are making some things happen over in the P.
