Why Ariana Madix Might Not Return to Vanderpump Rules

Vanderpump Rules Seasons 10 and 11 solidified that Ariana Madix would go down in reality TV history, but will she return for Season 12? Tom Sandoval’s former girlfriend is no longer waiting in the shadows and is ready to live life on her terms.

After being publicly humiliated, thanks to Tom’s affair with Rachel Leviss, the former bartender has been made into a demi-god by fans. But as Season 11 came to a questionable close, it became apparent that Ariana was playing by her own rules. Instead of having a one-on-one chat with Sandoval, she stuck to her personal boundaries, and ended her night at Applebee’s.

The move led to even bigger questions about whether Ariana would come back if Season 12 were greenlit. But most fans don’t believe she will. Ariana has been a part of the series since Season 3. But after all the drama, maybe the time has come for her to bow out.

Ariana takes Vanderpump Rules out of IG bio

It wasn’t hard to spot a major clue about Ariana’s possible departure from Pump Rules. Over the weekend, the fan-favorite removed “Emmy-nominated Pump Rules” from her Instagram bio.

Viewers tried their best not to jump the gun. But it was hard not to speculate that she may have finally quit the show. As of now, the Bravoleb only has Love Island USA, Something About Her, and Drink From Home cocktails in her bio.

Of course, it could be that she simply didn’t have the space for VPR, now that it’s off the air. Plus, she’s not the only cast member to have removed the show’s mention from her account. We’re in the off-season, people!

Ariana may not have been asked back

There is always a chance that producers won’t ask Ariana back. If a cast member doesn’t want to get involved in produced scenes, then they might not return. Producers tried their best to set up a one-on-one with Sandoval. But Ariana made sure not to interact, even though she lived in the same Valley Village home.

She was on a reality show, so it makes sense that she wanted to remain real by steering clear of Sandoval. But if she wasn’t willing to film with everyone, production might not have wanted to ask her back for another season. No matter how good the ratings were.

Ariana is in her era

Even though she may have been left broken-hearted, Ariana isn’t allowing anything to hold her back nowadays. She has had more than ample opportunities to make a few coins of her heartache. And she has definitely cashed in. From January to April, Ariana starred as Roxie Hart in Chicago, the musical. She recently announced that she would be returning to the stage for the month of August, proving she is still in high demand.

Before Chicago, she starred on Dancing with the Stars Season 32. Even though she didn’t win the Mirrorball, she did come in third with her partner, Pasha Pashkov. But perhaps the biggest news for Ariana came in March, close to the year anniversary of Scandoval.

Peacock announced that Ariana would replace Sarah Hyland as the new Love Island USA host. Since the love competition takes place in Fiji, it could be difficult for Ariana to film both shows. However, we do know that there’s been a slight pause in production on future seasons of Vanderpump Rules.

Ariana might want new friends

Honestly, with friends like this, who needs enemies? Season 11 showed Lala Kent and Scheana Shay openly supporting Ariana during her breakup, but the amount of sh*t-talking both did in their confessionals was close to slander. I imagine watching the season back would have taken a toll on Ariana emotionally as she realized she was alone on an island when it came to her feelings. Perhaps she figured that most of these people around her just wanted a paycheck.

Ariana is also dating Daniel Wai who is currently living in New York City. With a new man and essentially a new life, Ariana might have just wanted a brand new start free of the ties to Vanderpump Rules. I can’t say I blame her. The Season 11 reunion airs soon, and I think fans will be given more answers then. But for now, the speculation is running high about why Ariana most likely won’t return for Season 12, if there is one.

Vanderpump Rules is available to stream on Peacock.
