Most people likely know Garcelle Beauvais these days for her role on Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. However, Garcelle went around the entertainment industry block long before her time on Bravo.
Among her most recent industry credits was Black Girl Missing, a 2023 Lifetime movie. This movie apparently performed so well for Lifetime that the channel decided to keep Garcelle on as an actor for upcoming projects and an executive producer for sequels.
Now, the fruit of Garcelle’s labor is beginning to show. Fans anticipating the second Black Girl Missing film won’t have to wait much longer. Lifetime just released all the details.
When is Garcelle’s new movie coming out?
A press release from Lifetime detailed the name and date of the Black Girl Missing sequel. On July 20, fans can expect to see Abducted at an HBCU: A Black Girl Missing Movie on Lifetime. According to the channel, the movie “serves to highlight the growing epidemic of missing Black women and girls particularly those who come from disadvantaged communities.”
Leading the film will be Tanyell Quian as a college student and Naturi Naughton as her counselor. When Quian’s character, Shannon, goes missing, Naughton’s character, Ellen, is the only one to notice. With other college staff brushing the matter aside, Ellen must take action. As for Garcelle’s role in the film, she’ll be executive producing.
Lifetime credited Garcelle with “[charming] audiences of varied backgrounds for years. Continuing to cement her status as a media queen, she launched her production company Garcelle Productions, released a memoir titled Love Me as I Am (Harper Collins) and proudly became the first Black cast member on Bravo’s hit series The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.”
