The frosty relationship between Vanderpump Rules stars Katie Maloney and Tom Schwartz started to thaw a bit during Season 11. The former couple was able to have a laugh when Katie hooked up with Schwartz’s good friend, Max Boyens. But Schwartz overplayed his hand by asking for a one-night stand…of scrolling through their phones in bed and eating junk food.
Still, Schwartz finally acknowledged what he did wrong in their marriage. When asked to name three things that he could have done better, he responded, “Let her feel her feelings and validate them, before trying to confront them with logic. I guess be a better listener. Not get drunk and make out with strangers on a regular basis,” Schwartz added. And it is worth noting that he was the only Pump Rules cast member to congratulate Katie and Ariana Madix on the long-awaited opening of their sandwich shop, Something About Her.
A sweet moment between the ex-Bubbas
According to The Daily Dish, there was an unseen moment between the former couple that aired in the uncensored and extended version of the final part of the Season 11 reunion. That version is streaming on Peacock. Host Andy Cohen asked Schwartzy if Katie was “the one that got away?”
He responded, “No, I’m completely at peace with our decision to separate. It doesn’t mean that from time to time I don’t cry,” he said, through his tears. “And I miss you.” Katie also became emotional, replying, “Aw.”
“It was the right decision, but I’m still fond of the best moments we had together. We had 13 years. I don’t look at it as a failure,” Schwartz said. “I had so many great moments with you, Katie, and I still love you. But it was the right decision to separate.”
Katie had an equally tender response. “I don’t look at it as time wasted or taken from me at all. It was the best,” she said. Where is my cryangle when I need it?
