Love Island: All Stars is not down for the count yet. As a concept, Love Island looks about as simple as it gets for reality TV. But perhaps it’s that simplicity that bred multiple seasons and spin-offs. Among these spin-offs was, of course, All Stars. Any reality show that runs long enough will at least float the idea of an All Stars season.
Unfortunately, despite featuring some fan favorites, Love Island’s take on the All Stars format received mixed reviews. Even one of the contestants decided he was out within the first 24 hours. As such, the announcement of a second series probably surprised a good chunk of viewers. Nevertheless, time’s arrow marches on.
Twitter’s response to Love Island: All Stars Series 2
On May 28, the official Love Island Twitter account put out a tweet confirming that All Stars Series 2 was in the works. Beyond that, the only thing to know about the show at this point is that it will air sometime in 2025. Regarding the response, well … The announcement was met with a pretty resounding meh.
Among the top replies were comments such as “You could’ve kept that to yourself. Don’t ruin my day,” and “Seriously? Last one wasn’t great.” Beyond that, there was a pretty resounding sentiment of “No one asked for this,” as one reply put it. Multiple fans instead asked for another Love Island Games.
However, despite a perceived majority who opposed the idea, other users expressed excitement. “Oh! Series 1 was outstanding btw,” one reply read. Moreover, a BBC article reported that the Series 1 finale netted over 1 million viewers. Whether people loved it or hated it, the show brought in watchers. And in this TV landscape, there’s not much more a studio can ask for.
Love Island All Stars Series 2 will premiere in 2025, with Series 1 streaming on Peacock.
