For the first time in a long time, I am looking forward to a new season of the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. Season 13 really dropped the ball thanks to the absolute nothing storyline of Kyle Richards and Morgan Wade. The OG’s marriage was falling apart, yet no one could figure out what was truly going on. Dorit Kemsley offered no better as she pretended her marriage was also not on shaky ground. Even though earlier this month, she released a statement about her separation from PK Kemsley.
However, with the help of Santino, her horse, Sutton Stracke, raced through each episode, adding the only exciting bits to the season. Who knew a storyline about her esophagus would be so interesting? Perhaps this is why production decided to bring on Jennifer Tilly, her close acquaintance, as a “friend of” for season 14. But what should fans know about Jennifer? Let’s take a mini dive below!
Jennifer, the actress
To die-hard horror genre fans, Jennifer may be best known as Tiffany Valentine in the Chucky franchise. Living in Hollywood, Jennifer loves to be in front of the camera. She earned an Oscar nomination for her part as Olive Neal in Bullets over Broadway. For those Millenial followers, she has also been the voice of Bonnie Swanson on Family Guy for the last 22 seasons, which, frankly, I had no idea!
Jennifer is a pro poker player
Don’t worry, Jennifer knows better than to wear mirrored sunglasses while at the card table (unlike Kim Kardashian.) The first time Jennifer went to the World Series of Poker, she won a gold bracelet. Jennifer’s talents aren’t too shabby, as she has amassed one million dollars over her years of playing. Jennifer once told Us Weekly, “I’ve had a poker game going on for 20 years. We buy in for $20 and play for nickels and quarters. More fun than losing money with degenerates!” With the key to a good poker face being “as if.” So when she is bluffing, she “pretends to have pocket aces.”
Jennifer sees dead people
The scream queen is very proud of her psychic abilities, which she uses for poker or telling her partner to bring some food home when he ignores his phone. Jennifer has said, “If there’s a ghost, I’ll see it. In college, I woke up to a man sitting by my bed, smiling. He looked like Chucky.” Remind me not to do a sleepover at Jen’s house!
Jennifer gets hefty royalties
As per Radar Online, Jennifer was told that in 2017, she would continue to receive a cut of The Simpsons’ earnings through a deal she struck with her late ex-husband’s estate. Sam Simon was the show’s co-creator, and Jennifer is now entitled to 30 percent of the net proceeds that Simon’s estate receives from Fox. The earnings could give Jennifer tens of millions of dollars within her lifetime. Not too shabby! She could be more prosperous than Sutton. Jennifer and Sam were married from 1984 to 1991 but didn’t officially divorce until 1993. Sadly, Sam passed away in 2015 from colon cancer. He was only 59.
How did Jennifer meet Sutton?
It seems like extremely wealthy women flock together. Sutton first hinted that she met Jennifer years ago during a charity gala for the ocean’s marine life preservation. The duo have been bosom buddies for over ten years and often like to crossover into one another’s universes. Sutton made an appearance in the second season of Chucky playing the best friend of Tiffany. Jennifer has also appeared on the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. Both have had pretty public divorces that resulted in quite the settlement, and they have a shared love for fashion.
Jennifer has also made a few appearances on Watch What Happens Live where she noted she felt extremely protective over Sutton. At the time, the actress noted, “Yes, I’m very protective of little Miss Sutton…because, you know, she gets all excited. She thinks Bumble is like a candy store. She’s like, ‘That one, that one, that one, that one.’ I’m like, ‘Sutton, no.”
One thing is for sure: these two have a close bond. Both spoke on The Jason Show in 2022 arguing about how long they actually had known one another. Jennifer said, “I don’t know. I’d say for about 15–20 years.” Sutton interjected, “Not 20”. The horror queen then noted, “Well, OK. We’re not that old. But maybe about 15 years have passed since Sutton used to live down the street from me. She moved away… It was a five-minute walk, and now it’s a 15-minute walk. So I hardly ever see her anymore. Who wants to walk in Los Angeles?”
I don’t know about you, but I can’t wait until Jennifer holds her own diamond. One day, hopefully.
