With the success of Peacock’s The Traitors, fans are already speculating what might be around the corner for Season 3. The first season showed a mix of civilians and stars as they jumped through hoops to win challenges in order to build their bank up. Season 1 wasn’t the most exciting since fans didn’t know half the players. But Season 2 stepped its game up hard with the introduction of OG reality TV players from shows like Real Housewives, Survivor, The Challenge, and Big Brother. It is now inevitable that a Season 3 will be announced. The only question is when.
The top-performing series is based on the Dutch series. The series has cousin counterparts in the U.K., Australia, France, Canada, Sweden, Spain, Russia, Germany, Hungary, New Zealand, Ireland, Greece, and the U.S. With production dipping its hand into multiple cookie jars (i.e., different franchises), my guess is we will be seeing a star from Vanderpump Rules. Maybe Scheana Shay will finally get her wish to be relevant!
The rumors
With any insanely popular show, there are bound to be unsubstantiated rumors. Honestly, it’s all part of the fun. One tall tale going around was that after the cast of The Challenge 40 was released, Veronica Portillo soon dropped out. The rumor was she was asked to take part in The Traitors Season 3 instead. Another name thrown into the mix was Dance Moms star Chloé Lukasiak. In a reposted Instagram story per TV Deets, Chloé snapped a photo of a travel bag and sleep mask, both branded with “The Traitors.”
Real Housewives of Potomac star Monique Samuels took to Instagram to share that she had not, in fact, been cast in Season 3. Even though fans were convinced she had been. There have also been rumors that Survivor’s Tony Vlachos has been cast. But again, the network has confirmed nothing.
Our dream cast
Trying to figure out who will be in the cast for the new season is literally the million-dollar question. No one knows, and no one within the small circle is dropping hints. Peacock will be looking to create same the formula it did with Season 2. It mixed gamers, competitors, and even an MP to create some deliciously saucy drama. Now, I may not know much about picking the best players for my fantasy football league. But I know who my top two draft picks would be for Season 3 of The Traitors.
Sadly we already know Wes Bergmann already shared turned down the offer for Season 3 due to prior commitments. So I’m not getting my starting linebacker, per se. But hands down, my first choice would be Dorinda Medley. I really don’t even think I need to explain myself, but here’s why. Dorinda would be faithful, and she would try to run everything and be in control, which would drive her crazy when others didn’t listen. The “Make it Nice” queen is highly competitive. And would feel right at home in the bigger version of Bluestone Manor.
I’m sticking with my ladies’ theme for my second choice. I think Tiffany Pollard needs one hell of a redemption arc. I remember her from Flavor Flav- yes, I’m aware that dates me, but she was a bad b*tch. She was often given the villain edit, but she was just misunderstood. Tiffany is loud, brash, and aware of what she offers to any reality TV show. So producers give this woman a chance to deliver on the ratings!
When will Season 3 air?
Peacock has yet to announce a release date, but there have been mumblings that filming starts within the next two weeks. Scotland isn’t the warmest of places, with highs of mid-60s for early June. If Alan Cumming wants his little players to be out and about on the grounds, the weather has to be decent. The first two seasons both aired in January, which makes me think the third installment will be released in early 2025. Alan will, in fact, reopen his castle and be back as the host of the series. So Peacock, don’t betray me when it comes to picking the best cast yet.
