Former The Real Housewives of New Jersey star Dina Manzo has made it clear that she has no interest in returning to the franchise. She is much happier living in Los Angeles, far away from her ex-husband, Tommy Manzo, and her sister, Caroline Manzo.
Although the franchise was centered on family, Caroline and Dina had a legendary falling out. Most people thought the two sisters would make peace, but the gap between them only seemed to widen.
Tommy Manzo was convicted, and Dina celebrated her ex-husband finally facing justice
Dina’s ex-husband, Tommy, was convicted of hiring a mobster to attack her now-husband, David Cantin. In 2015, Lucchese mob family member John Perna assaulted David in a strip mall parking lot in New Jersey. Tommy reportedly paid John with a discounted wedding at The Brownstone, the venue owned by Tommy and Caroline’s husband, Albert Manzo.
Tommy previously had the case dismissed. He argued that his rights under the Speedy Trial Act were violated. The judge decided to dismiss the case without prejudice. Shortly afterward, the charges were refiled.
But now Tommy has been convicted of falsifying and concealing documents, conspiracy, and committing a violent crime in aid of racketeering activity. He is facing up to 46 years in the slammer, plus a $500,000 fine. His sentencing will take place on October 15, 2024.
Dina Manzo and her husband, David Cantin, have something to celebrate
Finally, Dina was able to savor the justice that she was hoping for. She celebrated in an Instagram post with a photo with her arms raised towards the sky. Dina added a comment with a star emoji.
She received positive support from fans. One user wrote, “I’m so so happy to see that you and Dave finally got the justice you deserved!! Your strength didn’t go unnoticed!! Sending healing and prayers your way!” Another follower commented, “What’s done in the dark is revealed in the light.” A third user simply wrote, “Justice for Dina” with a heart emoji.
Of course, the fact that Caroline previously wrote a letter supporting Tommy probably severed their sisterly bond for good. But I’m happy for Dina and David that they finally have justice.
The Real Housewives of New Jersey continues Sundays at 8/7c on Bravo.
