In September 2023, MTV revealed that Kim Zolciak would join The Surreal Life Season 8 alongside musician Macy Gray. The Season was later rebranded as MTV’s Surreal Life: Villa of Secrets. Now, a person has to wonder if MTV regrets signing a deal with Kim.
The former Real Housewives of Atlanta star was already in pretty hot water late last year. Since then, things only declined. Kim and her estranged husband Kroy Biermann threw all kinds of accusations at each other amid their divorce. Meanwhile, Kim and Kroy’s financial woes seemingly haven’t improved over the last nine months.
Their McMansion grows closer and closer to foreclosure. And who knows how much they still owe to various creditors? For Kim’s sake, here’s hoping MTV gave her a hefty paycheck. And for her kids’ sake, here’s hoping Kim used that paycheck responsibly. In any case, here’s the scoop on The Surreal Life.
Kim’s reality TV return to MTV comes in July
On June 18, a promo image for MTV’s Surreal Life: Villa of Secrets was revealed. Receiving top billing for the season were Macy, Chet Hanks, and Kim Zolciak. Other celebrities slated for the season included O. T. Genasis, Ally Brooke, Johnny Weir, Tyler Posey, and Josie Canseco.
Those keeping up with Kim over the past year already knew about her ties to Chet. The son of Toy Story’s own Tom Hanks found himself at the center of various dating rumors with Kim. Reports suggested the two were getting flirty while filming the MTV show. And while Kim said she wasn’t looking to date amid her divorce, she called Chet a “nice guy.”
As for other details, MTV teased that all would “be revealed” between the eight stars in the single villa. And those who just can’t wait for the new season are in luck. The premiere drops on July 23 at 9/8c on MTV. So, those hoping to see an exasperated Macy Gray only have to hold out for another month.
