During the earlier seasons of Flipping Out, the banter held between Jeff Lewis and Jenni Pulos gave me life. For every sarcastic, Eeyore-like comment made by Jeff, Jenni’s quick wit held a reply on deck, ready to fire back without hesitation. And the best part was, most of the time, her responses made Jeff laugh. Truly, these two raised me (even though our ages are mostly similar), with the assistance of my fake granny, Zoila Chavez.
But then, Mom and Dad had a falling out. In turn, Flipping Out got axed. So, what happened? And would Jeff consider making things nice with the best rapper on the planet, aka Jenni?
Basically, someone flipped out
In Season 11, Jeff fired Jenni. Jenni was shocked, and Jeff was as well. He didn’t even know that he was going to fire her until that very moment arrived. In a nutshell, Jeff wanted Jenni to take a step back and focus on her career in the entertainment sector, which seemed like a hard but well-thought-out call for an employer-turned-friend to have to make.
But then, In 2018, Jeff went on JennyMcCarthyTV, where he admitted that he was mad at Jenni. So mad that he posted an image with an x through her face. Bravo made him take it down. The petty in me sees the petty in you, Jeff.
To note, this all came on the heels of Jenni’s alleged report, accusing the show’s production company, Authentic Entertainment, of “abuse and victimization.” In speaking on this on Watch What Happens Live though, Jenni shot this down. She didn’t file any claims, and she simply wished Jeff the best.
In 2021, Jeff went on WWHL. After revealing that he had reached out to Jenni, he then had to admit that his former costar never responded. In this same time frame, they ran into each other in public, with Jeff explaining “I had tried to send her both drinks and dessert. Both of which were refused. So, I kind of got my answer there. She’s not ready.”
In contrast, only a few beats ago, Jeff went on the Two Ts In A Pod podcast, stating that now, he’s the one who isn’t ready. “Sometimes, we take things too far that you can’t come back from,” he explained, crushing my plans for Christmas.
Jeff’s latest thoughts on this friendship
Back on WWHL just a few days ago, Andy Cohen asked the always unfiltered and entertaining Jeff if he was ready to make peace with Jenni. In response, Jeff is now back on green. “I think that the answer is yes. Because I’m a very nostalgic person.” A thrilled Andy then said what many of us were thinking, which is “I love you guys together.”
Let’s go on holiday, Mom and Dad. I’m ready.
