Andy Cohen Reveals Major Regret Over Oprah Winfrey Interview

After 15 years of Watch What Happens Live, Andy Cohen has undoubtedly had some questionable moments. Nobody is perfect, and live TV isn’t for the faint of heart. For Andy, the job has only gotten harder over the last few months as he faced increased scrutiny due to lawsuits accusing him of inappropriate behavior.

Regardless of those headlines, Andy remains a man of few regrets. However, he does have one from his time hosting WWHL. It happened when he was talking to the one and only Oprah Winfrey.

If you watch WWHL, then you know it’s a big deal when a huge celebrity like Oprah shows up at the Clubhouse. It’s not like having some random deckhand from Below Deck or a washed-up actor promoting their latest Tubi movie. It’s a real celebrity!

When talking to Entertainment Tonight, Andy recalled when Oprah visited the show in 2013, and he tried to ask her a cheeky question about whether or not she had “taken a dip in the lady pond.” The question didn’t land at all, and he confessed that it was one of the few low moments he’s had over the last 15 years of doing the show.

At the time, Oprah didn’t seem to be amused. She simply responded, “No, no, I have not. Thank you.” Looking back on the awkward exchange, Andy said he felt some regret about taking the interview in that direction.

“This was a huge moment for me and for the show,” Andy recalled. “I’m such a fan of Oprah.”

“It meant so much to me that Oprah Winfrey did the show,” he continued. “It’s gone brilliantly, and I turn around and ask her if she’s ever had sex with a woman. I mean, couldn’t I leave it alone?”

Andy said that a few days after the interview, Gayle King told him that Oprah didn’t know what the term “lady pond” meant. Sure, girl. Even Andy wasn’t buying that one.

He added, “I thought I explained it pretty well there, but listen, I was so grateful that Oprah did the show and I still am. That remains, I think, my favorite episode.”

TELL US – ARE YOU SURPRISED ANDY REGRETS THAT MOMENT WITH OPRAH? DO YOU THINK THAT QUESTION SHOULD HAVE BEEN OFF LIMITS?
