Let’s get ready to rumble! The minds over at RuPaul’s Drag Race just dropped the trailer for Canada’s Drag Race: Canada vs. the World. Although they have fully invested in a wrestling theme for the trailer, don’t be confused. Drag is still not a contact sport.
In the trailer, we got a sneak peek at all of the fashion, flips, and freakouts set to unfold. Plus, some iconic guest judges are appearing along with the return of the Golden Beaver! Check out the trailer below for your first look at the new season.
The beaver is back
For the upcoming season, nine drag performers from across the Drag Race universe will face off. They have to impress judges Brooke Lynn Hytes, Brad Goreski, and Tracy Melchor. The last queen standing gets crowned the Queen of the Mother-Pucking World!
In the trailer, they rolled out the red carpet for a slew of dazzling guest judges. Most importantly, one of them is Real Housewives of Beverly Hills icon Lisa Rinna.
Canada vs. the World’s reigning champ, Rajah O’Hara will also make an appearance on the judge’s panel in drag. If you watch Drag Race, you know it’s rare to see a former contestant situated behind the judge’s panel in drag. Usually, that honor is reserved for the host.
The trailer also gave us a glimpse of what to expect with the gameplay for the upcoming season. Brooke Lynn said, “On our turf, you play by our rules,” which seems to hint at the return of the Golden Beaver. Originally introduced on CDR Season 4, the beaver allows the challenge winner to save a bottom queen from having to lipsync. Obviously, that’s a recipe for drama.
Canada’s Drag Race: Canada vs the World premieres on July 19 on WOW Presents Plus in the United States, BBC Three in the U.K., and Crave in Canada.
