Danielle Cabral focused more on her family drama last season. But since filming wrapped for Season 13, the sophomore reality TV star also cut ties with her father.
It all started with Danielle’s estrangement from her brother. Then, when their father reacted in a way that she disagreed with, the Bravolebrity decided to maintain a distance. To her credit though, she and husband Nate Cabral make sure that their children have a healthy relationship with their grandfather.
But a recent interview revealed that matters are thawing between Danielle and her father. It’s good news. Real Housewives of New Jersey has enough estranged family members as it is.
Danielle is mending the relationship at her “own pace”
Danielle exclusively spoke with Access Hollywood about RHONJ Season 14 and shared some positive news about her father.
“We are working, actually, in a positive direction. We are responding more via text message. I am trying,” she revealed.
“I get the fans are like, ‘Oh it must be her,’ because it’s very hard to describe it,” the Boujie Kidz founder said of viewers’ perception of her. “When we would do confessionals, the producers would always say, ‘they’re not going to understand.’ Because of how I described it. But it’s really just about protecting my peace and my heart. I’m so hurt by my family dynamic. Losing that.”
RHONJ is heavy on the “very big Italian family.” And Danielle is no different. She shared her heartbreak over losing the Sunday dinners, and the holidays, among other things.
“I come from a very big Italian family. And I lost that, and I’m heartbroken over it. And I live with it everyday of my life. And it would affect the way I mother my children,” she shared.
As for any sort of timetable for reconciliation, Danielle said she is working “at my own pace.”
“I love my father, my father texts me all the time,” she added.
Danielle then teased the idea of her father as a “breakout star” for the show. It’s the goal of an “intact” family.
