The next season of Real Housewives of Orange County is fast approaching, and boy are we Real Housewives fans pumped for the next iteration. Alexis Bellino will be making her long-awaited return, likely to push Shannon Beador’s buttons. Plus, we have plenty of drama among the mainstays to look forward to.
Gina Kirschenheiter has been an RHOC star for several seasons now. We’ve watched Gina go through a messy divorce and put her life back together throughout her tenure on the show. One of the most admirable qualities of Gina is her ability to put her kids first. Despite the tense past with her ex, Gina always prioritizes co-parenting with Matt Kirschenheiter. She’s even formed a close relationship with Matt’s new wife Britt Birdy. Now, Gina explains a bit about how she pulls it off.
Gina is all about respect
Gina and Britt recently appeared on the Orange Country podcast to talk a bit about their unconventional friendship and how it came to be. Britt explained that she would prioritize taking photos of Gina’s children without her or Matt in them to send to Gina to have for herself. “That’s what I would want,” Britt explained. “Not ever expecting a friendship from this but just so we could go to a soccer game and say hi to each other and not have animosity.”
Gina thought that the small, but mighty gesture set the tone for their relationship. “You’re just respectful at first and you put the kids first, then the rest naturally does fall into place,” Gina said. “It’s little stuff like that that just builds a relationship between the two of you.” Let’s give Britt an orange and bring her on the show because truly, this genuine friendship between Britt and Gina is fascinating to watch. Gina’s growth on RHOC is something every fan should applaud, regardless of their stance on her on the show.
Real Housewives of Orange County Season 18 premieres July 11 at 9/8c on Bravo.
