King Street in Charleston is about to have even more Bravo representation. Craig Conover and Austen Kroll are opening a new restaurant, and we’re finally getting our first look at what to expect from the Southern Charm stars’ new eatery.
The reality star and entrepreneurs already have one restaurant in New York called Carriage House. Their latest venture, which is called By The Way, aims to bring a new experience to Charleston in partnership with a company called the Uptown Hospitality Group. The boys just held a tasting event to give friends and family a sneak peek of the restaurant, and honestly, it looks pretty damn good.
By The Way is on the way
Originally when Craig and Austen announced their new business, it sounded like it was going to be more of a bar. They teased a “neighborhood tavern” concept that would bring together tourists and locals. However, the tasting preview they just had for By The Way makes it seem a little more upscale than just a random neighborhood tavern. Either way, we’re here for it.
Craig and Austen shared pics of the tasting event on their socials, and it looked like a hit. The plates look elegant, and there were no reports of food poisoning after the event. These are all good signs!
The menu for the tasting seemed elevated but approachable for an everyday person’s palate. They had parmesan and bacon stuffed Caesar salad, shrimp pasta, and steak frites. For dessert, they served up an espresso crème brûlée. Is anybody else’s stomach grumbling?
Of course, a dinner with Austen and Craig wouldn’t be complete without the cocktails, so they had that covered too with martinis, spritzes, and wines.
There’s no exact grand opening date planned for By The Way, but the Southern Charm besties previously predicted that they would have a grand opening in Summer 2024. That could be any day now! We’ll be keeping our eyes peeled for updates because trying that espresso crème brûlée is a necessity.
