The dynamic of the Vanderpump Rules cast feels so litigious now. The news of Tom Sandoval potentially bringing legal action against his ex-girlfriend Ariana Madix brought high tensions back into the group. She was already dealing with the fallout of Rachel Leviss’ lawsuit.
It’s time to get smart in every legal sense. And Scheana Shay is doing everything she can to protect herself and her family’s privacy. She’s had her own dealings with Rachel in court after all.
Signing NDAs is something “that a lot of people do”
The Good As Gold singer revealed during the July 19 episode of her Scheananigans podcast that she is an avid user of nondisclosure agreements (NDAs).
“I do make people sign them,” Scheana admitted.
VPR co-star Lala Kent started using NDAs first, and Scheana liked the idea and thus started having her staff sign them too.
“They’re quite popular in Hollywood and even among the Vanderpump Rules group,” she said.
Additionally, “If you’re in my house and you’re working—[whether] a nanny, my band, anyone who does work for me… It is something that a lot of people do,” Scheana shared.
Even family members are not except, though it seems that Scheana meant that as a joke.
VPR spinoff The Valley star Janet Caperna was on hand to discuss the topic. She brought up the point that illegal activities are not protected under an NDA.
“I think we’ve learned that with Randall Emmett’s ex-employees and assistants,” Scheana responded. Presumably, Lala’s use of NDAs was a direct result of her ex-fiance’s legal issues.
Will there be more legal issues for this notoriously litigious group? Scheana is doing her part to maintain her and husband, Brock Davies‘, privacy. Perhaps more of their cast mates should adopt the practice.
Vanderpump Rules can be streamed on Peacock.
