Lisa Vanderpump’s Party Planner Kevin Lee Attempts To Justify Hateful Comment to Katie Maloney

Body shaming is never shi shi shi darling! Lisa Vanderpump’s luxury party planner Kevin Lee always made the signature statements when he appeared on Real Housewives of Beverly Hills to organize her parties.

The phrase stuck, it’s Beverly Hills after all. But Kevin didn’t always say charming things. Good ‘ol Kev is still trying to justify a hateful comment he made to Katie Maloney during an episode titled “Call Me Jason” from Season 6 of Vanderpump Rules.

Kevin said he meant to “boost” Katie with the body-shaming statement

The party planner discussed his blatant lack of manners on the July 24, 2024 episode of the Behind the Velvet Rope With David Yontef podcast. Kevin admitted he suggested Katie “go on a diet” in an effort to “boost” her. By comparison, he said that the VPR star looked like a “model” when he first met her.

“When that episode aired, oh, I have to shut down my Instagram, shut down my Facebook. I got calls, oh my God. I couldn’t believe that people were yelling at me,” he shared. Kevin said he meant the body shaming comment as “encouragement.”

“That’s all my intentions were,” he continued. “What I told her was only encouragement. It’s from the heart, from love. Not to bring someone down.” He acknowledged that discretion isn’t his strong-suit, but he felt “bad” for making Katie cry. “But I have to tell the truth,” he insisted. I wonder how Kevin would feel if randos started coming up to him on the street to tell him some “truths” about himself.

“I cannot change who I am,” he said. “Why should I change? This is who I am. I don’t care [if] you get insulted but if you heard it, do something about it. That’s it. Okay, you can’t be so gorgeous? You can’t lose 3, 4, 5 pounds? If you can, do it. It doesn’t take a lot to lose some weight. Big deal. Do it. You’re gonna look good. I’m not pushing you down.”

This person feels very comfortable insulting women, considering they probably make up over half of his business. Hope he’s able to control himself from “encouraging” ladies going forward.

Vanderpump Rules is streaming on Peacock.
