The Bachelorette took a shocking turn on the July 29 episode, and Jenn Tran is reeling from the bombshell. Those who follow Jenn on TikTok likely know of an ex she refers to as “wiener boy,” because of his dog. Wiener boy’s real name is Matt Rossi.
Jenn and Matt had their ups and downs. Jenn felt she was head over heels for the guy before he unexpectedly broke things off with her. So, what would happen if Matt stumbled back into her life? Of course, that’s exactly what happened. And on national TV of all places.
However, it should be noted that Matt wasn’t entirely absent from Jenn’s life between the breakup and The Bachelorette. See how Jenn described it below.
Jenn’s ex, Matt, says he still loves her
Jenn expressed her surprise at Matt’s return. “For him to come here is just a big shock.” She didn’t seem all too pleased with his presence.
However, Jenn clarified that Matt wasn’t the ex to whom she often referred on the show. “We dated three years ago … He’s not the one who messed me up a little bit. We recently reconnected in the past few months as friends – or so I thought as friends.”
Matt, having been in Colombia, said he missed Jenn and flew to New Zealand to see her. “You could’ve said this before I left,” Jenn pointed out. Matt argued, “I did say it but I didn’t say it as grandly as this I guess.”
In all boldness, Matt then said, “I really do love you,” to which Jenn simply said, “Matthew!” As fans probably could have guessed, the episode ended on a cliffhanger, with Matt saying he wanted to join Jenn for her Bachelorette journey.
It’s a strange thing for a platonic friend to confess their feelings. And with Jenn and Matt’s history, as shared on TikTok, perhaps she should be wary. But only time will tell how this all plays out.
