Below Deck Med’s Hannah Ferrier Facing off Against ‘A Lot of Medical Issues’

We’re sending our good wishes to Below Deck Mediterranean alum Hannah Ferrier. The former chief stew just opened up on social media about some health problems she’s facing, and honestly, it’s pretty scary. Of course, our girl Hannah is tackling it head-on, but she also has some words of wisdom to help other people avoid what she’s going through.

Gell well soon, Hannah

On Instagram, Hannah thanked fans for checking in on her before revealing her ongoing health problems.

“Thanks for all the lovely messages — I’m OK. Just dealing with a lot of medical issues at the moment,” Hannah wrote.

She proceeded to explain that she had been diagnosed with Ross River virus. We know you’ve probably never heard of that unless you live Down Under, so we’ve got you covered. According to Us Weekly, it’s a disease that’s carried through mosquitoes. Hannah shared that she’s been dealing with its symptoms for weeks.

“Ross River is a disease similar to malaria that lives in you and there’s no cure,” Hannah shared on Instagram, along with a picture of herself attached to an IV.

Fortunately, Hannah has been receiving treatment from a laser skin care treatment center in Sydney, Australia. She explained how they’ve been helping her with these intravenous treatments.

“The drip I’m getting is NAD — it has [helped] me immensely. NAD+IV Therapy is an intravenous vitamin treatment that administers nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide directly to your body for optimal rejuvenation benefit,” Hannah explained.

Even if you don’t live in the South Pacific, Hannah explained how this encounter with Ross River should be a lesson for everyone. She urged that it’s super important to check your skin. It’s your largest organ, after all!

She explained, “I was having a routine skin check and then ended up having this minor surgery twice — but who knows what would have happened if we didn’t catch it when we did. No matter where you live, what your age is — please get your skin checked.”

TELL US – HAD YOU HEARD OF ROSS RIVER VIRUS BEFORE HANNAH’S DIAGNOSIS? DO YOU HAVE ANY WORDS OF SUPPORT FOR HANNAH AS SHE RECOVERS?
