As much as she might like to be there, former Below Deck star Kate Chastain will not be watching her good friend Aesha Scott walk down the aisle. She recently revealed that she won’t be attending the Below Deck Mediterranean Chief Stew’s wedding to her fiancé Scott Dobson next summer.
“I do not think I’ll be making it to Aesha’s wedding,” Kate said. “I’m sure it’ll be in New Zealand and that’s just a bit of a far trip.”
Kate is a single mom to a 17-month-old son, Sullivan Cay. She’d either have to leave her baby at home or endure a very long flight trapped in an airplane with an energetic toddler. Neither is a very attractive option, despite the great amount of love she has for the bride and groom.

“I’m sure she’ll be the most stunning bride,” Kate added. “I have a feeling it’ll probably be super down-to-earth and organic and beautiful, just like Aesha is. They love nature and the outdoors.”
As much as she’ll miss Kate, the bride will certainly have many other yachties present when she and Scott exchange their vows.
On the July 29 episode of Watch What Happens Live, host Andy Cohen asked her which of her Below Deck costars she’ll invite to her big day. Was he perhaps hoping he’d make the cut? I’d take any opportunity to visit New Zealand!
“Oh gosh, there’s too many to name,” Aesha responded. “Captain Sandy [Yawn] definitely.”
Aesha wants Below Deck Down Under chef Tzarina Mace-Ralph to be there, as well as Below Deck Med deckhands Joe Bradley and Nathan Gallagher.
But there’s one Below Deck Med alum who absolutely won’t make the cut.
“Who would definitely not be coming? Probably Mila,” Aesha added, referring to BDM’s massively unqualified Season 4 chef, Mila Kolomeitseva.
“I’ll get her to do the catering,” the bride-to-be joked.
