Luis Ruelas rubbed Real Housewives of New Jersey fans the wrong way from the beginning. But after his comments about Margaret Josephs’ son in the Season 14 finale? Luis might just be irredeemable from here on out.
For those unaware, Marge’s feud with Teresa Giudice was exacerbated by the Season 13 finale. As with the myriad of other cast conflicts, Luis remained firmly on Teresa’s side. At least he’s loyal (we assume).
Unfortunately, Tre and Luis progressively felt more and more like the villains of Season 14. As such, despite any of Margaret’s past slights, she didn’t seem to be in the wrong. On August 4, with the Season 14 finale airing, many fans felt justified in calling Luis a villain.
Luis calls Margaret “a real piece of garbage”
In the finale, as Teresa prepared for the hotly-anticipated dinner, Luis asked her, “What’s your plan today to navigate around Margaret? How do you plan on doing this?” She answered, “I don’t have a plan, babe. … I’m not a strategic person.” Uh-huh. Sure, Jan.
“I know you’re not,” Luis agreed, suggesting that Tre just “let it flow. Tell her to stay away from our family. And you know what? I hope Margaret and her family suffer. You know? I hope her f*cking son suffers the way I suffered. The way other people in our family have suffered.” Bro, what? Luis just going full mask-off villain now.
“She’s a disgusting, vile human being,” Luis said of Margaret. But Tre agreed, pointing out that her kids suffered at Margaret’s hands. “She’s sure to take advantage of everything that’s going on and she’s a real piece of garbage,” Luis continued. Still, he encouraged Teresa to just ignore Margaret or anyone with whom she had a problem.
Accordingly, on Twitter, fans blasted Luis for saying such things. One user called him “an angry bully.” Another asked, “What did Margaret’s son ever do to Luis?” Another still called his statement “disgusting. … he’s this comfortable saying this on camera so imagine what he’s like behind closed doors.”
Real Housewives of New Jersey Season 14 wrap-up airs Sunday, August 11, at 8/7c on Bravo.
