As fans know, Real Housewives of Dubai star Caroline Stanbury and her husband, Sergio Carrallo, have been talking about having a baby together. Well, Sergio really wants a baby. Caroline’s just not that excited about it.
Caroline is already the mother of three children: 18-year-old Yasmine and 14-year-old twins Zack and Aaron. She’s not so excited to be starting all over again with a baby.
But Sergio desperately wants to be a dad, and she loves him. Hence the quest to have a baby. They already have one frozen embryo and will most likely use a surrogate, due to Caroline’s age and previous pregnancy issues.
An obstacle is removed
Until November 9, 2023, surrogacy was illegal in Dubai, so Caroline and Sergio had discussed possibly finding a surrogate in Europe. But when the process became legal in Dubai last Fall, new possibilities became available.
The new law allows non-Muslim couples, whether married or unmarried, to access surrogacy, as long as the couple provides the eggs and sperm. The law also relaxed regulations on egg freezing, allowing non-Muslim couples to preserve eggs and embryos for up to five years.
Caroline explained that since surrogacy is now legal, the doctor who helped them create their embryo said he could refer them to an agency in Abu Dhabi, which is only a short distance from Dubai.
However, right now Caroline and Sergio are busy building a hotel in Bali, alongside all her other projects. It might not be the best time for a baby.
“How am I putting a baby in the middle of all of this?” she wondered.
But for his part, Sergio’s ready to pull the trigger on the surrogacy. “His ovaries are on fire,” Caroline jokes. “That’s all he sees is babies. And his really good friend, who is our neighbor, just had a baby yesterday.”
Apparently, Sergio’s dad went to Caroline and said, “Let’s have a baby,” Sergio added.
“He was like, ‘I want a baby,'” Caroline revealed. “He’s like, ‘I’ll take care of it. You won’t have to do a thing.”
“I’m not having a baby with [Sergio’s] father,” she clarified. “Let’s just be clear.”
