Grant Ellis Is The Bachelor for Season 29, After Appearing on Jenn Tran’s Bachelorette

It’s official: Grant Ellis will lead The Bachelor Season 29 after losing out on love with Jenn Tran. Grant’s elimination on The Bachelorette left many fans with disappointment. He seemed to be among the kindest and most compatible contestants.

From night one, Jenn made her attraction to Grant all too clear. She would’ve kissed him then and there if they hadn’t been interrupted. On the first group date, Grant left Jenn all too impressed with their shared values. But while he secured the group date rose that night, he couldn’t make it to the final four or hometown dates.

Grant understandably felt hurt. He told the cameras, “I poured everything out and it wasn’t good enough. It just sucks knowing that you feel some way about somebody, and they don’t feel the same about you.” Utterly relatable, genuinely. But now, Grant will have another shot at love.

As Jenn’s season draws to a close, ABC felt it was the right time to announce Grant’s come-up, just after his elimination. In a press release, the network shared, “A self-proclaimed mama’s boy, Grant’s infectious smile and unwavering positivity instantly brightens every room he enters.”

“The former pro basketball player is passionate about his career as a day trader, but when he’s not immersed in the fast-paced world of finance, you can find him cheering on the Lakers, hitting strikes at the bowling alley, or belting out tunes at karaoke nights.”

ABC also shared that Grant is “eager to embark on a journey filled with romance, adventure, and genuine connections. He hopes to find a partner who shares his values of loyalty, humor, and a deep appreciation for life’s simple pleasures.”

Grant’s new role as Season 29’s Bachelor is also noteworthy for representation’s sake. Grant will be the franchise’s second Black lead after Matt James.

The Bachelor Season 29 will air in 2025 while The Bachelorette continues Mondays at 8/7c on ABC.
