Jax Taylor Not Fired From The Valley Despite Rumors

The Valley cemented itself as Bravo’s surprise hit of 2024. However, the Vanderpump Rules spinoff faces some changes ahead of its second season. Among these is Jax Taylor’s unexpected absence, at least for a portion of the season.

In late July, Jax publicly announced his intention to check into rehab. A rep for Jax told outlets he was seeking “in-patient treatment” for “mental health” and behavioral issues. Viewers arguably saw some of these behavioral issues during The Valley’s first season. Fans were not all too pleased by Jax’s treatment of his wife, Brittany Cartwright.

Not long after Jax’s announcement, fans became aware of Lala Kent and Scheana Shay’s new positions on The Valley. The timing of it all had fans wondering if the Pump Rules alums were meant to permanently fill the void that Jax left.

“Jax absolutely was not fired from The Valley,” an inside source told OK! Magazine. The source outright denied the rumor that Lala and Scheana were meant to replace Jax. The VPR stars’ presence reportedly had “absolutely nothing to do with Jax.”

Regarding Lala and Scheana’s presence, the insider added, “Their fit into this group is a seamless one as they’ve known these people and been friends with them for years.” They further justified the choice by saying, “Let’s not forget Jax and Brittany Cartwright came from Vanderpump Rules.”

As for Jax’s fate on the show going forward, well, that remained to be seen. “Jax is currently away dealing with his mental health problems,” the production insider continued. “He will be back on the show when he returns and is healthy.”

As for that stay in rehab, the star’s rep said, “Jax has always been candid about his mental health struggles, especially during the past few months on his podcast. He has made the decision to seek in-patient treatment. This is a particularly sensitive time for him and his family. They ask for privacy and respect until he is ready to speak more on this matter.”

The Valley is streaming on Peacock.
