Alexis Bellino left Real Housewives of Orange County during Season 8. At the time, the stress from her co-stars was overwhelming. Alexis was feuding with her former friend, Gretchen Rossi. But now Alexis is back, and she has a new man, John Janssen. Unfortunately, he is Shannon’s Beador’s ex-boyfriend. While there is some tension with Shannon, it seems like the rest of the group has mostly been welcoming to Alexis.
How does Alexis Bellino feel about her RHOC return?
Alexis spoke with Entertainment Tonight about her return to the franchise. “How are you feeling about the version of Alexis we are seeing,” she was asked.
“Okay. I … I love a lot of it. There are obviously parts that I’m annoyed with myself,” Alexis admitted. When asked how she has changed since Season 8, she replied, “Well, I won’t need to go on Xanax, because I already lost my mom and didn’t go on Xanax for that. So, that’s a good thing.” She continued, “I’ve just grown. I feel like I was a girl filming before, and I feel like I’m a grown bleep woman now. You know what I mean? Like I feel like … I’m into my own and have grown into my own.”
Next, Lex was asked about the timeline of her decision to return to Orange County and when she met Johhny J. Hilariously, John doesn’t love his nickname. “We just have such a light-hearted, fun relationship that I just started calling him that,” Alexis explained.
“Anyway, the truth of the matter is, I was in talks with coming back prior to ever even knowing who John Janssen was. And I met him, unfortunately, basically, right before I was going to sign my contract,” she said. “So it threw … it did throw another wrench in the story. Or even me deciding to go back because I knew how difficult of a season this would be to film.”
Alexis previously shared that John offered to pay her the same amount as Bravo to not film the show. “I think he knew I wanted my own independence but he also was just like … I think he was wanting to let me know first of all just how much he did love me and that he would be willing to care of me. And I’ll give you something I’ve never said in any other interview. He actually also then offered to double it,” Alexis said of her Bravo salary. WOW!
But in the end, Alexis wanted to return for herself. “I already gave up my first career to be a stay-at-home wife for my first husband and my three children. And I know I get looked down upon because I was a kept woman or what other people have said,” she explained. “So I just told Johnny I have to do this for myself. And once I did make the decision, he has been nothing but supportive.”
When trying to make her final decision, Alexis visited a psychic, and she received a message from her mom. With her mother urging her to return, Alexis signed her contract. It hasn’t been easy for Alexis, as she has received some negativity since her return. But I enjoy her on the show and I hope that she grabs an orange next season.
