Dancing with the Stars Season 33’s First Contestant Is ‘Pommel Horse Guy’ Stephen Nedoroscik

Just when you thought you’d seen enough of the Pommel Horse Guy, here comes Dancing with the Stars with this casting announcement. They just confirmed that Stephen Nedoroscik will compete in the upcoming Season 33. Gird your loins, and get ready to hear a little bit more about his Rubik’s Cube fascination.

Stephen Nedoroscik is the first celebrity contestant announced for Dancing with the Stars Season 33

Stephen is the first “celebrity” dancer announced for Season 33. Just like previous seasons, ABC made the big announcement during a segment on Good Morning America. Apparently, he didn’t have to even think twice about signing up for the show. He told host Robin Roberts that he said “yes” right away.

Clearly, the only thing better than an Olympic medal is the Mirrorball Trophy. Other Team USA athletes who have competed on the show include the GOAT Simone Biles, Suni Lee, and Laurie Hernandez. Laurie wound up snatching the trophy in Season 23.

Although Stephen isn’t the first Olympian on the show, he is the first male gymnast to enter the competition. When asked if he’d be bringing his pommel horse moves to the dancefloor, he said he was ready to make it happen.

“I’m hoping to bring some of them. I want to bring some flares, I want to bring some of that gymnastics. Maybe a backflip or handstand. I want to have fun with it,” Stephen teased.

Stephen also joked that he’d be taking his Clark Kent glasses off before hitting the dancefloor. He can’t risk those things flying off mid-quickstep. That’s a surefire way to lose points, and this two-time bronze medalist has his eyes on the prize.

Season 33 of Dancing with the Stars premieres Tuesday, September 17 at 8/7c on ABC and Disney+. You can stream it the next day on Hulu, so you’ll have plenty of options to watch the Pommel Horse Guy strut his stuff.
