Frank Catania is one of my favorite husbands on Real Housewives of New Jersey. Fans love his bond with the other RHONJ husbands and their cringe antics. He also loves his ex-wife Dolores Catania and their two children. Now Frank and Dolores have moved on in the romance department. And while Bravo was reportedly interested in casting Frank’s fiancée, Brittany Mattessich, she declined. Maybe she is opposed to defiling The Rails.
Frank Catania’s fiancée Brittany Mattesich isn’t interested in a RHONJ role
Frank and Brittany are set to tie the knot in November 2024. So, during a recent appearance on The Lisa Alastuey podcast, Frank discussed Brittany’s involvement in the show. “There has been some inkling about trying to bring her on as a Housewife,” Frank explained. “And on her own, without me saying it, she has said, ’No.’ And she’s young. So being her age that she is and she said, ‘No,’ I was very happy that she said, ‘No.’”
He continued, “She said she’s seen too many good relationships go bad because of it. But she goes, ‘I have no problem, I come on. Make an appearance here. I’d love to be part of it. But, nah, I don’t want that obligation of having to be a contracted Real Housewife.’” Frank added, “It’s public. She’s got thin skin.”
Although Frank and Brittany filmed last season, they made a conscious choice to film less for Season 14 of RHONJ. “We tried to stay out of toxic scenes. We have so many good things going on in our lives,” Frank stated. “And we really didn’t want to be part of those toxic scenes. So that’s why you didn’t see us as much [on RHONJ] Season 14. Because there’s certain parties that we didn’t go to because we knew what was going to happen.”
Since RHONJ is destined for a cast shake-up, the future for the entire cast is uncertain. But Frank and Joe Gorga are in talks for their own show. Fingers crossed that no matter what, we still be able to see these middle-aged men act like teenagers on our TV screens.
