RHOC’s Katie Ginella Was Accused by Ex-Husband of Forging His Signature for Loan Applications

Real Housewives of Orange County newbie Katie Ginella wasted no time earning her orange. She accused Heather Dubrow of lying about calling the paparazzi. And when her friend, Gina Kirschenheiter, backed Heather, Katie was understandably hurt. But Katie has survived a seriously messy divorce battle, and some serious allegations from her ex-husband.

Katie Ginella’s divorce from ex-husband Andrew Sundseth was messy

Katie and her ex-husband, Andrew Sundseth, settled their divorce in 2016. While Andrew received primary custody of their three children, Max, Gavin, and Kaili, Katie was given visitation rights. Katie was required to pay $1,220 each month in child support, while her monthly income was $3,750. Andrew’s income was $6,995 per month.

In Touch reviewed court documents that reveal several shocking allegations from the couple’s court battle in 2018. Katie had requested that the court award her primary custody of the couple’s three children. She alleged that Andrew was emotionally abusive to their kids.

So, Andrew filed a countersuit, claiming that Katie hadn’t been paying the full amount of her child support. “Ms. Ginella has not paid the amounts due when they became due each month. Instead, she has made five payments totaling $1,100,” Andrew said.

The legal documents stated, “Ms. Ginella has had the ability to generate income and to pay the child support that she agreed to pay and as ordered by this court but which she has willfully failed and refused to pay.” Andrew claimed that Katie owed around $17,000 in child support. Andrew also alleged that Katie didn’t pay his attorney fees of $5,000.

Katie Ginella’s ex-husband claimed that she forged his signature

He also claimed that Katie forged his signature on loan applications. “[Katie] has had a number of civil actions filed against him for the collection of alleged student loans which in fact were applied for by and for which proceeds were issued [Katie]. [Katie] in all instances forged [Andrew’s] signature to the loan applications without his prior knowledge or permission,” the legal papers read.

Andrew requested that Katie be put in jail until she paid the back child support and corrected the other legal issues. Katie admitted her failure to pay support, but said that she had “no ability to pay the child support payments as ordered in the consent temporary order.” She also denied that her failure to pay was willful, and said that she had set up a payment plan with the state of Florida. Katie denied ever forging her ex-husband’s signature on any loan documentation.

The child support was discontinued in March 2019, and Andrew maintained custody of Gavin and Max. Katie was awarded custody of Kaili. As of now, Katie is married to Matt Ginella, and they share one son. In a continuation of her legal woes, Katie’s company Tee Shots was reportedly slapped with a $5 million lawsuit. Katie has denied any wrongdoing pertaining to the lawsuit.

Season 18 of The Real Housewives of Orange County airs on Thursdays at 9/8c on Bravo.
