Gina Kirschenheiter and Emily Simpson’s heated conflict on the recent episode of Real Housewives of Orange County seemed cathartic enough. It wasn’t necessarily a surprise, given the buildup of emotions during the cast trip when Emily took offense to Gina seemingly being very much under Heather Dubrow’s influence. Gina, in turn, felt her friend was changing her behavior around Tamra Judge.
The pickleball fight was needed and brought the two closer. But did the fight resolve all the conflict? Gina and Emily presented a united front to answer the question for BravoTV.
The duo decided that they “always want to make it right”
“Sometimes you get a little jealous or a little bit, like, insecure. Friends are going to fight!” Gina explained in the exclusive interview. “But real friends, when you fight, it brings you closer.”
Issues between Gina and Emily, though significant at the time, were short-lived. And they are both solid with each other now.
“I think Gina and I are so close; I equate Gina with a sister, not just a friend,” Emily said. “There’s never any long-term toxicity in our relationship. We’re so important to one another that we both have the mentality that we always want to move forward and we always want to make it right.”
“I just saw Gina a couple days ago,” she added. “I went over to her house and we sat on her couch and we ate gummy bears. [ … ] We have such a solid foundation and such a solid ground as a friendship that even when we’re mad and we’re yelling at each other it’s emotional. We’re mad and we’re yelling but we’re crying at the same time. I think it’s easy for us to come back around.”
Gina agreed, “Emily is one of my best friends in the entire world. I put her in another bucket. We’re sisters, we’re family, we’re ride or dies.”
With one friendship sorted out, Gina can now focus on regaining Heather’s trust. She’s also distanced herself from Katie Ginella after the newbie’s fight with Heather. Perhaps there is work to be done there as well.
