Phaedra Parks is thrilled to be returning to Real Housewives of Atlanta and has felt like coming home. At the end of the day, her comeback was simple! “They called, I answered,” she shared.
The reality star revealed in July that she would be holding a peach once again for the Bravo franchise’s 16th season. And she felt it was the right time to make a glorious return.
Bringing RHOA back to its heyday
“We were the number one franchise of Housewives and I was a part of making that franchise a successful franchise,” Phaedra told PEOPLE. “I would love to bring the franchise back to its heyday,” she explained.
She also shared that she was excited to reunite with her friend Porsha Williams on the show, who also returned to RHOA after a short absence. “Of course, I love Porsha,” Phaedra exclaimed. “We’re the original frick and frack.”
Phaedra first joined RHOA in season three and stayed on until departing amidst controversy in season nine following a scandalous fallout with co-star Kandi Burruss.
Since the housewives, Phaedra appeared on several other television projects like Marriage Boot Camp: Hip Hop Edition, Married to Medicine, and the hit mystery show Traitors. She also took part in Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip: Ex-Wives Club.
It’s not clear yet, how much presence Phaedra will have in the new season but fans are looking forward to seeing her back with the crew. Her arrival came after news broke that Kenya Moore was exiting the series following a fallout with Eady.
While there is no release date yet for the new season of RHOA, filming just officially wrapped. So it looks like fans won’t have to wait too long to see Phaedra back with the housewives.
“I will say this,” Phaedra teased. “It’s going to be an amazing season. It will definitely be reminiscent of the Housewives you loved originally.”
