Rachel Lindsay Has Good Advice for New Bachelor Grant Ellis ‘Listen to That Inner Voice’

When Bachelorette star Rachel Lindsay and her husband, Bryan Abasolo split, I was sad. They were one of my favorite couples from Bachelor Nation. The couple fell in love during Rachel’s season of The Bachelorette in 2017. Rachel was an attorney while Bryan was a chiropractor. Finally, they tied the knot in August 2019. Then Bryan filed for divorce on January 1, 2024. Now Rachel is giving her best advice to Grant Ellis, who is The Bachelor for Season 29.

Rachel and Bryan’s divorce is messy. Bryan was awarded $13,000 a month in temporary support from Rachel, and she just paid him $43,000 from their community estate. This is only part of their final settlement. However, Bryan was upset because his first temporary support was confirmed by an “offensive text.” It read, “BofA: Glender Ruth Llc sent you $6,628.50 for ‘Temp Leech Money.’” Ouch!

Anyway, Rachel shared her best advice for Grant as he searches for his wife. “I would say trust your gut,” Rachel told People. “You have no outside influence, so you really have to trust yourself. Listen to that inner voice, and follow that. Don’t let other people do it for you,” she added. Grant, who is a day trader, is Bachelor Nation’s second Black Bachelor. Matt James was the first.

Plus, Rachel also shared some advice for the ladies out there. “Often we compare ourselves to other people, and we think, ‘Oh, I’m not enough, or I need to be doing what that person’s doing,'” Rachel stated. “But the reality is you’re unique. You bring something different to the table every single time. So continue to know what it is that you want for yourself, stay in that lane, and be yourself,” she added.

Well, that sounds like good advice. And I’m sure that somewhere in there Bryan will find something to feel insulted about.

The Bachelorette continues on Mondays at 8/7c on ABC. The Bachelor Season 29 will air in 2025.
